Esab Globe-Arc

Could do with another headshield. Seen these from Esab, looks quite usefull, especially for sitework, when its handy to be able to see whats going on outside of the 100x60 window

Anyone used one?
Looks like they can be got for about £50.

Eventually got one! Turned up today.

First impressions, nice and robust... except for the super comfort swively bit on the back of the headband. Looks like that might fall off...but probably a spare part.
Mind you, even out of the box, with no hat on, its very comfortable.

Both bits can be set tight or loose as required, to get the first section or all of it down in one nod.

Remaining uncovered screen doesnt seem to let too much light in that it make a nucience of itself.

Just right for grinding, only a shade 2 or 3. Allows you to see scribe lines and imperfections etc without flipping it up.

I dont think its a mask for heavy duty welding, unless you upped the shade of the inner screen.

The design of the mask looks likes its more aimed at production welding rather than general fabrication welding imo.
Be interesting to see how it performs over time, what goes slack, drops off..... snaps

Where did you manage to get it from in the end? Get it for £50?

Welly weld... price... not sure...
Tacking and stitching i think it will be best for.

Will stay at home for now though.

Quite like the look of them but noticed that they only seem to be available in shade 10 or 11, too dark for my old peepers!

Hitch, have you had chance to use the Globe-Arc lid in anger yet? Be interested in your opinion if you have.

Yeah, had a bit of use, going to use it agin in a minuite actually.
Its handy having the flip up shade, with the lighter (3?) inner shield. Plenty of room to see around.
I still havnt used it for any heavy stuff though.

Been rattling about in the back of my van this week, been using it for tacking up.
Got it out yesterday, and the flappy bit on the back of the headband has broken.

Looks like the same headband as the origo tech headshield i also have, that one broke off too. Doesnt really make any difference to it. But if its going to break on every one they make, best they improve of forget about it!
