Esab Handy vs. Myking Electrode Holder

Just wondering opinions on this, the myking is dearer by about €10, does it warrant the premium over the esab?

theyre pretty much the same thing.if i had to choose,the myking has a bit of a nicer feel to it,but i wouldnt pay a penny more for the privilege

Cheers, is walsh the only stockist of the myking round these parts or do you know someone else that stocks them?

only saw it in walshes,but they just have the 450A version on the website.
its way too big for normal use.they do normally have the smaller versions in stock

I was looking at the 450 amp alright, sounds big then! I know there is a 200 amp available but I'd like something round the 300 - 400 amp mark. Is the 300 amp esab smaller than the 450 amp myking?

Yea I'd be interested, did you have problems with it or is it more so preference?

its just the shear size and weight is unnecessary for me,90% of what i do is with a 3.2 or 2.5 rod.when i ordered it i thought bigger would be better,and put it on a beefy cable to boot.6 meters of 35 or 50mm i think,total overkill for my little inverter thats sat 3 feet from the workbench
