Eutectic Castolin 6601

Evening all. Has anyone ever come across the above rods, or know anywhere that supply them? I`ve got a couple of kilos left, but having killed the mig i`m now flying through them. Beautiful rods to work with, these are 2mm (ish) and are lovely even down to 60 amps on AC. ANY info on them much appreciated. I cant even work out what there meant for, but seem to be happy in any position.

Applications
Special manual electrode for in-position joining of unalloyed steels and cast steels. Applications include boilers and tubular assemblies, vehicle bodies, machine construction, shipbuilding and steel armour.

Found that bit. I have a feeling they came from my uncle, he works offshore. I`ve a right odball selection of rods when i dig through them, every one lovely (and usually darn expensive when I find them for sale)

Yeah its pretty much the same at our place. We got 2 pallets of rods a while ago, must be 100 packets of Murex 7018, quite a few boxes of Esab 8018 and a LOT of Murex Armoid rods as well as a few boxes of other specialized stuff. Not bad for nowt.
