extra air receiver tank

hi all, im new to this site, ive got a bambi compressor, its not very big but its dead silent so i dont really want to get rid of it as can use it late at night, its only 50 litres per min and the tank is abit small, (about 25 litre) i only need a tiny bit more air so i was going to add another tank, so when they are charged up then will do just what i need, i only want another 25 litre just to give me more trhan enough,

has anyone ever done this and how?

Just connect it with a pipe directly to your existing tank (ie before the regulator). Make sure it has the same or greater pressure rating as your current setup.

Do make sure you don't exceed the duty cycle of the compressor when filling the pair together though, not sure what a Bambi is, but if it's a fridge motor type they can be susceptible to overheating.

If your new tank doesn't have a drain valve position it so the connection is at the bottom, that way any mositure will be pushed back into the first tank.

altered pipe work and refit the motor and pump to new base. an extra tank is less work

will be easier on the motor to used two tanks as you can put a shutoff valve on the second one give the motor a rest and then let it fill it

heres one of my comp setup and varoius hoses. i use claw fittings on all 3 comps so any hose size fits all no loss of cfm . then i have euro couplings and also pcl .the extra tank ive made is used for an aftercooler at the end of the lines as i dont need the extra storage capacity it can be cooled by the exhaust fan of blast cabinet or by cold water over it from hose pipe cheap and chearfull. for extra storage just use a tee piece with a ball valve in the airline in to a spare tank .heres a few pictures

the tank drain is on the top with a copper pipe down to the base and can be vented when presurised . the nipples are threaded in and used lock tite at the mo but ive made steel bosses to weld in

That makes sense BS,i've welded sockets on in the past ,my next one i was going to invert and reuse the built in gas valve as a drain ,how did you make the dip tube to 1" connection on top? or was the dip tube part of the original cylinder?

i drilled and tapped the the brass gas valve 1/4 bsp . took an 8mm copper pipe and soldered it into a 1/4bsp nipple . that is screwed in to the tank and an elbow and ball valve fitted on top .i didnt want the drain on the bottom as id have to cut the base off and weld legs on
