fence posts are quite strong(when in decent nick!) so having sunk some new ones in concrete i thought why not mount a log holder to it...using old gate hinge,angle iron,threaded rod,off cuts of tube etc.. anyway this was the result..didn,t take too long..self adjusting and gives me some where to park the wheelbarrow/lawnmower!

yes! good idea ,very quick and easy to set up as and when needed,good for draining oil or blade/belt maintenance on grass cutter too....

2ft is too low 6ft is too high!

that's a fair point, but why cant you just leave it on the floor? Surely its easier than lifting it onto the post

it was close to hand..i needed some weight to test the bracket...could have been anything!

i measure each piece to +/-2mm,length and diameter, check moisture content within 2%tolerance,and individually weigh each piece,maybe i do have a problem...
