filter.reg.lub port size

hi, having just purchased a used compressor i am in the process of getting my system set up.

i am looking to buy a filter/reg/lubricator and am after some advise with regard to port size. 1/4" or 1/2" BSP?

I will mostly be using air tools such as impact wrench, ratchet etc but maybe some spraying later on.

i know that most air tools use 3/8" hose so tend to think that 1/2" would be best, lest restricition in flow etc.

any help much appreciated, i'll post some pics of my compressor later.

Go with 3/8" or 1/2".

A 1/4" reg/filter is too restrictive for larger air tools.

Rule of thumb is always to go as big as possible to prevent restriction at source, so yes, 1/2" is best.
