Filter/Water trap.

I've bought a couple of filters for my compressor as i think water may be giving me a bad finish on the gates i am painting.

I thought i could add this to the gun

I also bought one of these
I've read its not good to have the filter on the compressor (not that it would fit).
How about a 10m straight hose going to this then the crappy curly hose from this to the gun?

don't use coiled pipe to spray gun it collects moisture in it and then squirts it all out in one go

So use the coiled pipe to the filter then the straight one?

its preferable not to use coiled pipes at all .only on tire inflators and blow guns etc

At the moment only got the two hoses will the filter do anything mounted directly to the compressor?

I have a watertrap on the compressor tank and if spraying use another one near the end of the flexible line a couple of meters away from spraygun

I had a little test with the filter on the end of the 10m hose then the curly one to the gun. Got a couple of drops in the filter but nothing in the mini filter on the gun.

I doubt it will improve my painting skills but after my last session (sun was out) i drained about 100mm of water out of the compressor.

This is probably the best setup. I have also seen filter/regulators that you wear on your waist with a short hose to your gun, usually found in pro paint spray booths.
