I just ordered one up, should be here in a week. Has anyone used an e670 or e680 before?.Its got 33% bigger viewing lens and true color filter whatever that means. I hope i didnt make a mistake purchasing one.
I haven't go that Model so can't comment on yours. But I do have a Optrel Satellite, and that's the mutts nutts. So I don't think your choice is a bad one
Thanks, Shox Dr..... I love neutral countries .. Swiss. When i get my helmet, hood or whatever you wanna call it i will do a review for everyone with pictures of the helmet and the len colors when welding.
I have been welding for six years ( i know its not long ) but a greenish yellow auto tint can sometimes blend in with the weld joint and make it hard to Distinguish filler metal with parent metal. I know its a small thing to complain about but if welding is your job the smallest things make a difference.
Just had a look at some info on the e670.......it looks pretty good in auto mode, with the shade changing levels according to the brightness of the arc.
Ok i got some pics up, I got pics of the lens color when looking through it. i compare both My old optrel satellite and my new optrel e670 with true color view.
The arc is a nice crisp blue color with an orange weld puddle. I have not used it much. i just tryed it out today for only a minute. Once i try it out a bit more illtake pictures of the lens with me welding.
Mine's an Optrel e680, but I've heard it called a Optrel/Sperian e680. Maybe Sperian own Optrel, or the other way around. Maybe they're even one & the same!
The lens does seem exceptionally clear, but my old helmet wasn't too good, so not too fair a comparison!
All the Best,
CJ
e670 goes from a tint 9-13 and has an auto amperage sensor mode. In auto amperage the helmet will sense the amount of amperage you are using and tint automatically.
e680 goes from tint 5-13 but does not have auto amperage mode.

I have no need for a tint any less then 9. The auto amperage mode comes in handy when you are Tig welding. When Tig welding you have the foot pedal that controls your amperage as you weld the helmet is always adjusting for your eyes.
