Recently bought one of these.
There are plenty of versions on aliexpress, I bought the cheapest one.
Only got around to trying it out last week. Original idea was to fit it to a lidl grinder to give me variable speed but the boss on the grinder was too small for the clamp on the attachment.
The range of boss sizes for the clamp are 40-42mm. I ended up fitting it to a bosch 4.5" grinder.
Another issue was the drive pulley that screws onto the grinder spindle. It has 2 threads machined into it, M10 and M14. Mine was M14 but it would not screw on fully because it bottomed out on the M10 thread.
This meant that the belt didn't align properly on the nose bearing, it sat to one side.
This actually proved to be a bonus in use as it allowed you to get into corners better.
A while ago I bought a job lot of belts that included these 520x20 P40 zirconium belts.
They fitted the attachment perfectly and I went to work finishing off a chainsaw carved xmas tree.
To say it worked well is an understatement. It ate up the wood, well seasoned ash. It was also very controllable but it would be an advantage to have some speed control. I swapped over to a finer grit belt, P100 but it was still too aggressive. I finished it off with a b&d powerfile and a fine grit belt.
Very impressed with the tool, I'll be ordering another one for my chainsaw carving mate coz I know he'll love one.
There are some mods I would make. First would be to machine out the M10 thread from the pulley so that I can align the belt.
I'll also try to fit it to my lidl grinder using a spacer on the clamp. That will give me variable speed.
I'll also make a guard at the drive pulley as its easy to contact the belt in use, my gloves now have a hole at the knuckles!
The main body is in aluminium but the end part is only plastic. This wears down from the belt sliding on it.
I might try adding something to protect the plastic or remake the part in steel, it happens to be the same size as 20x20 shs!
