i was wondering what idears poeple on here have to cover the inside of a wooden shed, floor and walls. so that i can do my welding in it.
i thought about 1mm sheet steel but the shed is 10 foot by 15 foot so this will really be to costly/

good idea and should be able to get them second hand

Fire blankets, cheap, even cheaper if you can get hold of ones replaced because of regs. They can be used anywhere, and folded up when not needed

My shed is a timber construction, cls framework with 22mm marine ply cladding. I cladded the inside with plasterboard like snooper has suggested, but the voids i filled with fire rated expanding foam. It`s quite solid, I dont worry about knocking holes in it, you get the odd gouge in it but it wont break though with the foam behind it, and those little holes can be filled if it`s ever needed.

Other than that. You said about thin steel, how about thin ali instead. Lithoplate to be precise. My grandad had a lot of it, think he picked it up fairly cheap, about 18" squares. Might be able to panel areas like that. Just an idea.

Or just use chipboard and spray it with this:

I used to use a similar stuff in the polyurethane industry in foam mixes...
Spray a light coat, let it soak in and dry, spray another. Then once it appears dry after a day or so paint with an enamel type paint...

It won't stop it burning if a major fire starts but it prevents surface spread of flame which is how minor accidents get out of hand

Ever considered laying a water proof membrane on the floor , take it up the walls 300 mm and then screeding it over with 2 inches of decent sharp sand screed with PVA in the mix , on top of some chicken wire in at half way level (as a reinforcer ) that way your floor will be almost solid and help hold the shed down in a bit of a blow .
Then do the plaster board exercise on the walls and put down skirting to stop hot bits rolling under the edge .

If you go the whole hog and line the ceiling don't forget that you may need to make noggins and a bit more roof baton work so that boards are cut & nailed onto batons as any unsecured board length of more than 1000 mm is liable to sag if damp.

All of our office a.k.a .Log Cabin walls & ceiling were done in the heavier feathered edged foil backed boards, for buying 15 in one go gave me discount and free delivery . I have also put in fibre glass batts on the wall & roof ( used two cans of aerosol carpet spray fix glue for the roof ) which was fully lined with WPDC polythene first then battoned for the plaster boards

Don't forget that boards should be screwed with proper plasterboard screws to the batons not nailed as nailed ones have a nasty habit of becoming loose ( that's why building regs forbid the use of nailed boards nowadays )

We went the whole hog , I taped & plastered the whole shed , Alison chose the PINK colour for the walls HONEST.

We don't suffer cold or condensation in the office ..can use it as emergency spare bed room for holiday visitors etc.... next project if I'm fit enough is to line the garage roof , tank the walls & waterproof screed the floor slab as it is wriggly tin roof and prone to condensing evaporated moisture from the floor slab which does not have a WPM
