only problem with plasterboard is damp the only real solution is sheet steel try to find a stockist with some damaged sheets you dont have to cover full walls

Im in a 7 x 12 wood shed double skined. Depends on how much welding you do realy. If its only small projects I dont see the need to worry, I keep a bucket of water handy, my benches are all wood, my main area for welding I have a thick piece of steel plate on top of the bench and my other bench is a Kitchen work top, the laminate top will take alot to burn through.
