First time spraying

Evening I know this might be a stupid question and has proberly been answered before but I'm just about to start spraying a classic mini in cellulose and was wondering that if after spraying with the main colour does it need a coat of lacquer.Also with the sub frame what would be the best thing to paint it with .I've heard that hammerite sets to hard so is no good . Thanks for the help

cellulose doesnt need a lacquer and as for your sub frame epoxy primer seems to be the paint of the day for protection then coat with a decent gloss

On some jobs we used to mix 25\75 Colour to Clear give a deeper gloss.

No Lacquer needed on cellulose as it has lacquer included in the formulation.

as for the underside, use a chassis black paint over a stone chip coating for best rust protection (and seam- sealer on any seams and welds).

Thanks for the advice any brand of chassis paint better than another or are they all pretty much the same. Also the new panel I've brought is covered in a black paint does this have to be removed or can I prime or colour coat right over it as the top coat is also going to be black.

sounds like a cataphoretic primer. Some are better than others but i would personally wash it off with celly thinners then get your own primer on, guide coat and flat 600 solid 800 metalic.
