hi
I'm having major fish eye probs in my cellulose high build primer coat. I've didnt have a problem with fish eyeing when laying down the first coats of primer using aerosol cans (for speed and convenience). I'm now using a gun and compressor to apply the high build primer and final top coats so I'm guessing the gun is probably causing the problem. I have two water traps fitted - one at the compressor and one directly at the gun. Everything is brand new from compressor right through to the gun - this is the 1st time I've sprayed. Maybe the gun is contaminated from the manufacturing process. I clean the gun thoroughly after use but maybe I need to inject some gun wash or panel wipe through the gun air ways. I've read the forum and see that brake cleaner can be used and is better than panel wipe - is this correct? Also, can leaving the panel wipe to evaporate instead of drying off cause fish eyes? thanks
