My push fit pcl fittings seem to leak alot of air when they are connected, is this normal??

No, its not normal. Where are they leaking exactly, where the hose connects to the fitting at at the actual fitting? If its tha latter i don't know of any cure except replacement, if the former, refit the fitting with plumbers tape on the theads

Not normal. Shouldnt be loosing any air at all.

Sounds like the male coupling may be damaged...? Or the female one sticking a bit. Sometimes a bit of light oil and a few taps sorts them out.

Or, are they the safety ones that allow you to vent before you release the hose?

To stop threads leaking I use PTFE tape on tapered ones, locking compound on parallel ones.

Its at the actual fitting where the leak is coming from. If i disconect the fittings from each other the leak seems to stop. They are brand new fittings from screwfix.

Use a soap solution to find the leak - obviously if you disconnect them there will be no leak in the plug because that side will de-pressurise.

Take them back and get them to replace them. Its not worth messing about with them.

Make sure the male is compatible (correct profile) with the female, I once had some from Screwfix that did not match even though they went together

They have a life, after a couple of years I find the probes start to leek...
