Flexible pipe to compressor

Hi Folks,

Back in March I needed info on fittings for a John Guest nylon pipe system.
Response was great, and I was able to run my pipe system around the shed.
Believe it or not I'm only just going to connect the compressor (SIP 06290 Airmate belt drive 3hp 150L) to it, 'cos other things have had to take priority!
Anyway, my problem is sourcing a flexible 22mm. pipe to connect (I know I need a 1/2" fitting at the compressor end) to the 22mm JG rigid nylon system.
I've been searching the internet, and trying a local hydraulic pipe supplier with no success.
Any pipes or hoses available seem to be too big (28mm. OD0) or too small.
I don't want to go any smaller with a flexi pipe, because surely that would negate the advantages of the 22mm system?
Any advice or ideas please?

Can't you get a hose tail to fit the pipework and another to fit the compressor and just use a length of rubber hose? (I'm assuming you are connecting to the tank rather than the pump itself).

3/4 inch (19mm) bore is probably the nearest,

Hiya ...... I recent found myself needing a flexible pipe for my compressor and having shopped around found pirtek to be pretty good..... They weren't the cheapest around, but the hose is steel braided and rated at far higher pressures than my broomwade would be producing. They can supply pretty much any size and make it while you wait if you have a depot nearby

I wondered about using household gas hose with quick release on compressor end.

Flexible plumbing tap connector? I know the 15mm variety hold pressure well because I used one myself, you would need 22mm ie bath tap. Comes with bsp ends too.

I made up my own hose with hose tails going to a 3/4" BSP union at each end. Not the best pics, but you can get the idea.

Once again you lot, thanks for all the input which has enabled me to finalise plans for my set-up.
By the way Richie Mac, Pirtek site is good. I didn't know that they are the same people as John Guest. They list all the JG pipes and fittings but called Pirtek!

If memory serves.
People use simple water flexible pipe.
Like used to connect to your bath taps.

Mains water pressure can be very high in certain areas.

These flexible pipes are rated pretty high.

The overbraded flexible plumbing fittings do look impressive but can have a very narrow bore, worth checking before buying.

I am using just that. And the blue water mains pipe as used underground.

I have two very large commpressors linked together using blue water pipe and the over braided hoses
