Bought 0.8mm Flexovit Ultra Thin Metal Cutting Discs a couple of days ago for using on my wood burner project

Best cutting disks i have ever used cut very clean, fast and they last

You get 5 in a pack from screwfix and are £8.50

i cut the handle off my wood burner, put 3 cuts on the door (the hinge cut was done with a 1.0mm to give a wee bit extra clearance) and cut the top and bottoms off 2 disposable argon cylnders and the disk has only lost about 1/8" of the radius or 1/4" of the diamiter.

They dont skip or jump atall when starting a cut and they are very easy to keep in a straight line

Yes, great discs....I find flat ones are better for normal use, get a bit more wear out of them...

Yeh definately, i use 115x22.23x1 for all my cutting work i just wanted to try the 0.8mm disks, i get my 1.0mm from plasma part you get 50 disks for £32 and they are top notch last for ages

They are great discs, just wish they did them in flat versions. And cheaper!

The reason they are not flat is due to strenth i dont think there is such a thing as a flat 0.8mm disk

Smith and Arrow 0.8mm too, Very good value for money. just light pressure and let the disc do the cutting.

I found a one off bin full of powercraft brand 115 mm thin discs in Aldi, they worked out at 15 p each, i thought it was too good to be true, and they would last about 10 seconds, but i tested one compared to a Bosch and i couldn't tell the difference, i was back and had the entire bin full on the till within 20 mins, and i'm still using them 2 or 3 years later.

I love a bargain.

I could do with finding some 9 inch thin disks cheaper than screwfix, any suggestions ?

Try smith and arrow website, im going to buy some 115 0.8mm thay work out at 70p each delivred, they have lots including the 9" stuff give them a try

A friend of mine describes the thin cutting discs like life...

They seem to last ages and then dissapear very quickly near the end.

Given the same grinder, the thinner the disc, the less metal is cut out and the faster it cuts.
I use 125 1mm discs. But do be carefull not to put the grinder on the floor under the piece that comes of suddenly and falls on it exit disc after little use.

Depends what your cutting and how ur cutting it, if your cutting thick metal and letting the grinder do the work, not forcing it through it will last a while, if your cutting thin stuff like always cutting on the edge of the sheet not on the flat your disk won't last very well

Flexovit thin cutting disc fault

I found the 'new' version of the Flexovit thin cutting disc WITHOUT the centre metal washer to be utter rubbish after it work tightened or locked onto the shaft nut and couldn't be removed even with the key locked firmly in a vice.
Yes, I was turning it the correct way to loosen it (I did check several times), as I have done hundreds of times before.
My near new Makita angle grinder locking pin ended up busting out of its metal casting in the gear head completely ruining the tool.
I called Flexovit in Australia straight away and they said the sales rep would get back to me...that was a month ago and He's still too busy or simply just doesn't care is more likely.
Avoid the Flexovit cutting discs with no metal slip washer, Flexovit's cutting costs will up yours.

The best way is to use a hammer and punch without the spindle lock. Wheb they get tight its not even worth entertaining the locking pin and spanner.
