Foil Covering UPVC Window Frames

We have a couple of UPVC window frames whereby the foil on the sills has come away - I think it is from the effects of the sun - in all fairness the unots are approaching 20 years of age.
The foil is light oak in color - can anybody give me a heads up as to where to buy this foil from?
Sure there are Companies who specialize in this (so they say) but insist on coming to do a survey of the property before quoting a cost....(they also sell and install UPVC windows and doors....need I say more... )

Consider painting them. Fairly easy job bar the masking. Epoxy primer followed by colour coat of your choice. Technispray in Birmingham do specific products (they claim) but are probably just the aforementioned.

what do you mean by foil on the upvc plastic

if you mean the film that your meant to strip off after install then it shouldnt be on the frames

any chance of posting a pic up so i can see ?

He's referring to wood effect frames, I believe, so it'll be the wood effect covering.

Yes - sorry - I should have included them in the beginning. Photo's show a good frame and one frame with a sill wherev the foil is pealing away.

you can buy self adhesive wood grain vinyl but i guess there is something more specific for a window as i guess not sure does it feel grained or smooth

best way with those is take the whole window frame out and fit a new window sill

refit and reseal back up again

Fablon makes a very close match - but would it work on an external application? Guess there's only one way to find out ...

I've done this a few times in the past,and as most have said just strip off whats gone(that bit ranges from quite easy to being a b*****d),and replace with vinyl wrap to suit,job done
Its also a good way to changing the face of kitchen cabinet doors

So it does works externally yes?

Seems to work fine outside.
I've seen a upvc door done with it to match wooden stable doors and that's holding up fine. Must be 10yrs ago now.

I also covered a few grp panels in a boat 5+ yrs ago. Material looks fine still. On that the edges of the film are tucked back under the panels though so no chance of water getting in.

Looking at your photo id guess water running down the window has got under the film and thats why its lifting. If you cant tuck it in underneath maybe run a bead of superglue or brown silicone along the edge after fitting it?

As with anything adhesive it's the preparation and application that determines how long it will last!

you have to remember i fit these to me they are 4 screws with foam or just foam and thats it

to refit its 2 screws to hold the new window cill 4 screws on window frame fit packings fit window and fit the seals then foam up and silicone
