It's quite an impressively well-written smoking carp thoughit's all CARP.....n smoking mirrors....
I thought I was the only one that got on with Vista.
Vista wasn't great at launch but once it was patched it became a solid OS and paved the way for 7.I thought I was the only one that got on with Vista.
Funnily enough, Windows 95 and 98 got a new lease of life, security wise, once WinXP had become established as most of the viruses, trojans etc. tried to exploit code and features that were only in XP (like C$ and \\machine-name)I was running XP on a connected PC up until about a month ago no AV/Malware software with absolutely no problems.
Aye. Always a gamble thoughI was running XP on a connected PC up until about a month ago no AV/Malware software with absolutely no problems.
Exactly, why exploit vulnerabilities in an OS that few people/organisations useFunnily enough, Windows 95 and 98 got a new lease of life, security wise, once WinXP had become established as most of the viruses, trojans etc. tried to exploit code and features that were only in XP (like C$ and \\machine-name)
Mmmmmmmm..... yeeeeeeeeeeessssss..... but a lot of unpatched exploits on Win7 ... Win11 and everything in between will likely work on XP, too, as the core platform (win32) is exactly the same.Exactly, why exploit vulnerabilities in an OS that few people/organisations use

I have Windows 7 on my PC. Its as slow as molasses, but I prefer it to the Win 10 I had (briefly) on an Asus all-in-one. I eventually killed that thing after a years ownership, it was so pitifully slow and cumbersome.I was running XP on a connected PC up until about a month ago no AV/Malware software with absolutely no problems.
