Forge burner

I’m look at build myself a forge burner I’ve managed to get hold of all the parts I need bar one the gas nozzle Im after something similar to the pictures below which is 1/4 bsp the short thread is 1/2 Long and the bottom 1 1/4 the hole is 3/64 anybody any

Never seen the jet your looking for though sorry can't help there. Can't you make something around a 1.2mm mig tip. The beauty of mig tips is they're easier to get hold of and the range of sizes makes them handy for tuning your burner.

I’ve recently built one from scrap, keep meaning to do a thrwad on it but not got round to it. Used an M6 thread 0.6mm mig tip for my gas jet. A 0.8 one worked in it but it burns better with the .6mm.

I looked a the mig tip and tapping hex nipple but what to try and get one like this ill have to pop round my local engeneering shops see if they can help me out

Some of the minimig tips are threaded m5. Camozzi make a 2531 1/8-m5 reducing bush that is the easiest way I know of getting from BSP threads to a mig tip.

The easiest way of getting a really good forge burner is to buy an Amal atmospheric injector from Burlen Fuel Systems. For a forge burner, running on Propane, the ones jetted for Butane work better than the ones jetted for Propane: the jets are slightly smaller so they can draw more air and burn hotter with the choke fully open. Sizes range from 1/2” up to 2”. Anything over 1” is overkill unless you have a big power hammer or press to feed, though.

Iv been round a couple of machinists shops today and found somebody that’s willing to make them as long as I get a batch so think I’m going to get the batch and put the rest up for sale on eBay and some blacksmithing forum help some other out

My dad bought some of the burners that a farrier makes over here. All the youtubers use them.

I use a straight pipe coupler a stop end (which i drill and tap for a mig tip)
