Are Fortrex 7018's any good???

Two boxes on eBay I was considering to add to my collection

5mm x 450mm size...

Are you not better getting some decent 2.5mm E6013's? much better for your sort of stuff!

5mm!!! Just because you can burn them, doesnt mean you should. What were you thinking of welding with them

Saw them going cheap Thought they might be worth a punt if I wanted to do anything structural in the future

I'm assuming then, 2.5 to 3mm will be fine for 3mm to 5mm plate with a 1mm root gap??

2.5 for 3mm plate, 3.2 for 5mm plate - then again, i'd do wither thicknesses with either rod size - just depends what was to hand!
