Also think my mig is playing up (unless I've lost it completely)

Has it been siting for years ? Could be rusty wire or gas running low? Or maybe a bad earth.

Cheers guys. Im in Padstow. I stripped the welder,cleaned the rust up and checked the connectors. It had been standing a while,it worked well today on some 5mm plate. Just seems to be melting my old Cortina. I'll have a practise on some bench welding.
