Fridge compressor swap

I've got an old , noisy small 110v compressor .
Just took off the compressor bit and put on a fridge compressor .
Compressor works fine when switched on but no air is getting past the pressure switch in to the tank , I can hear and feel the air coming out inside the switch .
Is the switch fubared or is the fridge compressor not chucking enough air in to make some sort of one way valve work ??

The latter, most unloading valves require quite a bit of air flow/pressure, usually about 20 psi, to close them, they're called delayed unloading valves, you want a non-delayed type, I forget their proper name.

I dont think fridge units last for long pumping clean air?

I was under the impression there were lubricants in the sealed circuit.

They can't pump clean air because the inlet to the pump is in a mist of oil thrown up by the motor, This means that the air is heavily contaminated with oil which has to be filtered out, and the oil level has to be maintained. As you say, in normal operation the system is sealed.

Was going to use it near me little lathe but now it's getting complicated I'll just run a pipe from the 200l one and go out for a smoke while it runs . Cheers anyway .
