G5-01 shade changing by itself issue

The shade on my G5-01 seems to have a mind of it's own, even if I crank the shade to 13, it will change back to either being too bright, or then reverting back and forth from super dark and super bright, sometimes it will be fine but it will bother me quite a bit everyday. Also yea I know the mask is advertised as changing it's shade by itself (even the color.).

My question will be, is there anyway to fix in place the shade on my mask, without locking out the auto darkening feature? I can fix the shade at whatever I want but it disables auto-darkening, honestly very dissapointed that this is an issue...

The ambient lighting may have sufficient "flicker" in it to trigger the auto-darkening of the visor. You may not be aware of the flicker, because of the eye's peristence of vision. It is quite common for autodarkening helmets to trigger with certain types of LED lighting, and also with gas discharge arc lamps. Try the helmet outside, in view of the sun, and see if the shade switching behaviour is still there.

your saying its on 11 then goes to 9 or 10 by itself ? i dont believe that. and another thing , its not advertised as changing anything on its own. sorry but you have to press the buttons for anything to change. perhaps maybe read the owners manual and then youll see

owner manual of all the equipment can be dloaded from the 3m speedglas site. of course your equipment would of had a paper owner manual included also.
