In a really great way, for me. I spent a little bit of time in Eastern Europe ages ago and loved the subculture of similar groups of make do enthusiasts living to work on whatever car or project was their thing. With next to no cash. Very reminiscent of those times. I was driving a vw beetle at the time, the Speedo cable snapped but I happened on a group of enthusiastic vw owners who assured me they'd have a spare in their garage (as far as I could make out with the language barrier). Of course it was face palms all round when we realised LHD and RHD ones were different lengths.....no issue, someone just brazed the old one up.
