Gas strut ball and pin removal

how do I get the poxy ball out of the strut top i can see a spring ring in there but cant open to thing!

and they wont just pull out either.

I've used a hook shaped scriber, the sort for removing oil seals, you may need one on each end of the circlip and then collapse it inwards.

Some are fixed and cannot be removed without braking them. (Subaru)

its too tight in there Ruffian could be right
