Hi I will soon have to change my 20L 5% Argon gas bottle I use for Mig welding for the first time. It's an SGS bottle and they are quoting me £70 plus VAT to swop, is this a fair price or not? My other question, although it's got a SGS stamp on it, would other companies change it?. If so, it would mean I could shop around!

SGS only as they own the bottle, call around a few of your local stockists to get prices as they do vary but £70+VAT sounds about right.
There is also Adams Gas and Hobbyweld if you don't mind swapping supplier and want rent free but I think you will find prices about the same.

I use Adams Gas, I have 2 x 20ltr bottles (one 5% argon for mig and one pure argon for tig for mobile welding) bottles and 2 x Full size bottles (one 20% argon for mig and one pure Argon for tig) expensive outlays at first, but saves so much in the long run with refilling the big bottles compared to the smaller sizes.
It's well worth considering it, depending on how much welding you do and storage space available...
