got a new helmet, but it has an annoying amount of light glare coming in from behind, ive worn an awful amount of helmets in my time, but this one is pretty bad,its the shiney plastic,maybe..I was gonna make a hood for the back out of a bit of old leather jacket lol, anyone got any pics of their for inspiration
My helmet has an adjustment to lower the frame to outer height, can you cut down the gap to let less light in ? Put a bit of lagging round the edge and cover it with something to close it up a bit.
my esab did the same, beanie hat cut down on it massivly, only an issue if i ever have the back facing bright sunlight now..
if not some sort of hood would be a good idea, would stop those nasty sparks from finding your neck/ears
if you use some wet and dry on the shiny inside to take the gloss off
might help
or same rough it up and you blackboard paint on the inside so you get a matt finish
Ive been pulling my hoodie up the last few nights when welding and its helped alot, not tried it in natural daylight though.Thats a good idea to dull it down,Ill give it a scotchbrite scuffing inside.
