Afternoon all.

I'm Sammo.

I have recently bought a Beetle which needs welding back together so I am going to teach myself how to weld. With some advice along the way from you guys hopefully

I need some ideas as to what welder would suit me best so feel free to give me some suggestions.

Hi Sammo. Welcome to the forum. Clarke machines are well liked, SIPs and Chinese Ebay imports aren't. Contact Weldequip (his web shop is linked on the home page). Not only is he competitively priced, his service is untouched. He will make sure you get the machine you want, he knows welders rather than just how to operate a shop till. If you've got the pennies and want a ton of bang for your bucks, have a look at his Portamig range. I've got one and it outperforms another respected make which I use regularly and costs double.The Portamigs also have a very low minimum amperage which is really useful for thin stuff such as cars.
