I am richi from the wirral, Found this site the other day and am seriously impressed. Just trying to learn weilding got a sip arc and sip mig. It may be me but the arc does ok but the mig is pants. wish i found out about this place before i splashed out the readys.

whats the prob with the mig? willing to give the benefit of doubt before damning the sip...

well i can not get it to drive the wire thru smothely no matter how much I play with the speed dial
it comes out mega fast then goes slow then stop and starts all on the one speed setting chaning the speed setting makes no differance at all. The arc works well as long as you dont mind waiting for it to cool down after 50-60 mm off bead. But I should not moan got them cheap of a car booty. (wonder why)

Sounds like it may need a new liner mate, I had to do my clarke last week with the same fault.

I might just get a new one looking at one of the clarkes that run of 13 amp

Well you'll have the benefit of a warrenty with the new one. If you decide to sell the sip, let me know, its always good to have a backup
