Indeed, although when I last used it about 10 years ago it was to pump out a footing I soon discovered it doesn't half shift some water. Priming it was a pain, but I imagine the flap seals will be long past their best.

Is that a little JAP engine?

I'm not that familiar with petrols but the engine on my pump is a, iirc, jap iia(?) and, from memory, it looks similar.

Mine is unusual, which is why I purchased it, as it's coupled (from new, ie factory job) with a mono progressive cavity pump.

I bought it for pumping oil at remove sites but I've never gotten around to replacing the stator in the pump (like a rubber sock that the rotor seals on to 'progress' the cavities forwards)

There's very little information around on these pumps, have a Google and you'll see what I mean. From what little I have been able to find they made some fire service pumps and some 'civilian' with either a BSA or Villiers engine. This one is Villiers and an original fitment to the pump.

I bought it years (probably 20) ago with the intention of refurbishing it at some point. Aside from using it once it's sat around being moved as I've moved unit/garage/container.

I'm also in Birmingham and have a fair bit of Villiers reference material, manuals etc. that may be of help, I also have about a dozen Villiers engines in various states

It's a Villers , they were in Wolverhampton. They bought out JA Prestwich in the early '60s and then the whole lot was taken over/bought by Manganese Bronze.

So, it's not a Villiers, it's a JAP 2S.

I did suspect it was a JAP when I saw the tank in the first pic. can't recall when JAP were bought by Villiers.

I thought this was a 175 cc but it turns out it's a 200 cc from 1930.

The bracket looks like a replacement, but there is a bolt and tapped hole at that point on the 2S. This is a photo from Google and you can see the bolt where the 'D' of LONDON is.
