Google one drive

Anyone had problems with google one drive.?

I have one drive which came with 15 gig of storage.
I require some temp cloud storage so paid for 2 TB but it's not showing up on the PC.

In fact there seems to be a link between Microsoft 365 and Google one drive as the login take you to the same place.

One drives micro soft, did you add the storage to your microsoft account or buy it through google ?

As above, OneDrive is MS - Google is just Google Drive I think.

Right so we actually have two different products.

I upgraded via google play to 2TB.

Your replies explain why the one on the PC is only upgradeable to 1TB on the screen that comes up when you click upgrade....

You might be confusing things - you can (probably) download OneDrive via google play for use on an android device (I have iPhone so can’t try at the moment), but google drive is a different product entirely.

Well it's confusing but I found out why. It's when you search for google drive in the play store it comes up with google one

I now have google drive installed on the desktop with 2TB of cloud storage.

Only problem I have is no one will ship a pcie to sata adapter for Saturday delivery. The one I purchased happens to be Mini PCIe.... Aaargggghh.

Looks like Amazon are unable to keep uo with demand.

DHL are one of the few who manage to deliver to me in Spain, along with UPS. Even Amazon over here is a bit sketchy. By far the worst are Correos, the Spanish version of Royal Mail. Jeez, anyone who thinks RM are crap needs to live with this.

But DHL managed to get to me with a pair of headlamps for the car which came from Germany. That was just with the address, which even Google Maps doesn't have listed. Correos can't manage this even with a Google PLUS code and they (allegedly) know every address in Spain. They genuinely make Evri stand out as a shining example of how to do things well.

I've noticed Amazon stopped being next day on 1st December

Weird.....I ordered yesterday and the two items both said Sunday. Even in this weather the guy turned up before midday with both items.
Impressed with Amazon as even a local guy would not let me collect....lol

We are in the sticks, even things that would be next day in the old house can be a day later here

Ok still on the Cloud drive SAGA. I have a load of files I paid for . Mainly SVg and PNG but the guys and girls whio made them have stopped doing so. They say they will keep their google drives up as long as they can but......I realised if they delete the drive or content we also loose access.

I searched tinternet and found this "Make a copy of the shared files to your personal Google Drive. Search Google Drive for “from:”. Select all the documents you wish to save, and right-click (or control-click) on them to choose Make a Copy. This will copy the selected files permanently to YOUR Google account and make you the “Owner” of the copy."

BUT sadly its wrong. It does not make you the owner. Any google drive Gurus around today?? (with power of course)

Where are you saving it too, the "Files" page or the Google drive home page?

If Google drive works in the same way as One Drive on share point, if your not saving it to the "Files" page it saves it as a link to the original and not a copy of the document.

I don't have a clue. All I know is I pay for the files. They have a shop where you have to click each file and paypayhip store I think it was. Those I saved to my computer and stick them up on Dropbox to keep them safe.

But they also sold drives. Which was actually a google drive shared link.
So when clicked it appeared in google drive. Under a folder called my shared files.

Reading the help files on google it says that you save a copy and it saves it to your drive as the owner.

But it does not work that way.....obviously it's difficult to get more info when subsequent searches say the same.

3 dots to the right of the file you want to save, select make a copy, and save to the Files area of your Google drive, or download and save wherever you want.

I dont think saving it to your Home area works, it just saves it as a link not a copy)

No mate . It makes a copy and you can move it but the owner is still the same...

I have not yet tried to check if a file I have copied is deleted is also deleted or I get no access..
