got my new portamig advice on settings please

got my new portamig 181 yesterday had a go tonight with it on some 1.5-2mm wings on my tractor welded realy nice only thing is in unsure what setting is what i had it on corse 1 and fine 2 but id like to no the equverlent of 1-9 as other weleders iv used have only one setting switch im guseuing c 1 and f2 is about 2?

the 181 has 3 course and 3 fine setting so is
1c 1f=1
1c 2f=2
1c 3f=3
2c 1f=4
2c 2f=5
2c 3f=6
3c 1f=7
3c 2f=8
3c 3f=9
or am i totaly wrong?
other than that carnt falt it a1 pieace of kit

Well you missed out number 3 but apart from that your right

PS: Does your welders wire feed start moving at number 1 or number 4 ?

opps thanks wondered why i got 10 thought there was only 9 thanks now i know where i am with it.

not sue on the wire feed i will have a look i take it you meen on the 1-10 on the feed speed? i think it dose but very slow

on my 300, it moves at so slow at the lowest setting and gets faster. I havent checked it yet but think each number is about 2mtrs per second. so setting 4 is around 8 mtrs per second. when i get chance to check i will

Portamig wire feed

Hi folks
My Portamig 185 wire feed speed varies with voltage setting. Wire delivery is zero at the lowest setting (curiously numbered 1 instead of 0). It seems to work well at a setting just below 6 on all voltage settings - I can lay acceptable welds on 2 mm steel plate at this speed on a voltage setting of 1 coarse 3 fine. Hope this helps
