Hello there, first things first, brilliantly informative site.
I am acting as mouthpiece for my computer-averse father who has recently retired from 40 odd years of dentistry. A dental charity trip to Africa last month prompted an interest in the construction of a lightweight, portable/collapsable but rugged dental chairs for use in the mobile clinics. These would require Tig welding in part and would form the basis of a substantial retirement project. He has a good engineering back-round as he used to build and set up (and frequently rebuild.....) racing cars in his spare time which hopefully should help in the learning process. I myself recently completed a ten-week welding introduction course at my local collage in which I was drawn to Tig so this project has the potential for some father/son bonding time! I look forward to asking both his and my questions...
cheers for now
