Hi,

Newly registered but have been following the proceedings around here for a few months now.

I am new to welding, and decided to start at the deep end it seems with my lovely little 180A cheap buzz box. Nice little welder but it can be a bit of a handful at times, a little too high on the amps and it eats fuses like its going out of fashion, more than likely user error

I love putting together bits and pieces, and am a firm believer in the Heath Robinson philosophy.

My main reason for getting into welding was a little project that arose from a few beers and idle chat regarding 'chopping a pushbike'. After a few months of trying to rig up a system of bolting things together to get the job done I finally caved and bought the above welder, had it about a month and think I am finally getting the hang of it

Will post some pics up of my handiwork, and sorry for the ramble...

Chopping a pushbike eh? You'll soon be chatting to Chunko' then, he's the resident bicycle butcher!

This is the right place to get that nonsense out of your system.
Dont even start doing it, you wil get nowhere fast, you will become the Official town idiot, your family will disown you, you wil go shaky at the knees when yu see a dead bike in a hedge, you will go bald and turn into a bearded cider drinker, then worst of all you will meet other kindred spirits, a slippery slope indeed.

But then again once on a slippery slope there is only one way to go and that is down. Easy.
