Anyone know where you can get hold of replacement paper washers for Grinding Wheels, aka Blotters?

That's a timely reminder . I have a brand new 800 x 20 mm lathe tool dressing /sharpening wheel siting on the desk to my left … just had a check the paper is only on one side of the wheel and it is thin paper so a sheet of A 3 cut roughly to just over size should see the clamping washer fitted & tightened up then tear off the excess if you need to .

I use gasket paper in a pinch.

Thanks. Searching suggests everyone uses some form of card from a cereal box.
Just struck me as odd you cant buy them, since the likes of Norton say they must be replaced when damaged etc.

but omit to tell you you have to shell out for a new wheel if they are damaged big £££££. sometimes if you change the wheels over the card pulls apart I just scrape the rest off and make new ones

This is why I regularly buy 18 packs of stella artois. Its ideal for gaskets, blotters, templates for plating up etc, etc. The beer’s not half bad either

Cut the teeth off two hole saws. The arbor adapter holds them together.




I won’t know if they are sharp enough until tomorrow. When I can use the fly press
