Evening all, I am a student in my fourth year of electronics engineering in north wales

I have a keen interest in cars and consider myself a fairly competent car repairer, but am just entering into the bodywork section, as I am restoring a 1969 MG Migdet.

I also own a landy which needs welding, and a metro which needs welding, and my missus owns a mini, which... doesn't need any work! Unusually.

shall do, ta! Any tips on pulling saxo chassis legs completely straight?

got a saxo cheap with minor front end damage, got it mostly fixed now though

dont use heat saxo pretty **** metal when pulling can snap. clamp well pull "as its said reverse the damage" thats means pull the way it got hit when the pull is on hammer the crese/wrinkle some cars have to much damage too be fixed by pulling. need new parts.

thats what ive been doing - applying tension with straps onto the back of the landy, and persuading the creaes. Have bought a new wing for it, to be honest im pretty sure its all goin to go back on OK now. Will know for sure in a few days...

do you have it on a bench that is a pulling frame

I used to use a selection of chains, hooks, threaded bar, 3x2 and scissor jacks to straighten bent bits out. Jacks are very handy for pushing if you have something to wedge them against like an engine or mount and threaded bar or chain with hooks for pulling back together.

No it isnt on a pulling frame, its chocked in place. Have been using a bottle jack and a trolley jack, to be honest its going to be no more than 3-4mm out if at all now. Will let you know how well it all goes back together.

Threaded bar and chain sounds a good idea, like a turnbuckle kinda thing?
