Will somebody be so kind as to post/mail a few pics of a power hacksaw's lifter mechanism.
Or if you have a manual in electronic format that shows a schematic breakdown of such a beast, I'll really appreciate it if you can provide me with a copy.
Not sure if this is what you want. I could never get this to work on my powered hack saw as it actually lifted the blade further up and away from the work with every stroke. Maybe I used the wrong grade oil but have no Idea what would be the correct grade. In the end I just put an arm on the back of the saw with a counter weight and this works fine.
Perhaps I should say that main drive wheel is fitted with a cam and this pumps a small lift cylinder on the main blade lifting ram every revolution
Hi Fluxcored,
The eccentric drive pumps all the time the machine is running, but in the cutting mode it only free wheels, when the cutting is complete the cutting arm operates a lever on the hyd cylinder that closes the open port and the saw lifts and then the machine is switched off by a preset limit switch, and a notched bar drops under the cutting arm as a mechanical holding device,
Hope you can understand the ramblings of an old man(65 at Christmas)
