Has anyone used or got these? They are on offer at half price ia m just after a bigger cabinet at the moment and don't want to upgrade to something pants.

Go for it! I bought the intermediate drawers last week for £50 ! I've got the top and roller cab that's been used for years including moving the top drawers about for racing and they are very good for the money .
Don't let anyone put you off saying that Shat On stuff is the only way to go, Halford's professional stuff is good gear.

I don't quite think you can compare a set of snap On drawers to Halfords. There is no comparison. Halfords drawers are flimsy, the lock mechanism is poor and they don't handle weight great. They're only narrow and not deep, so you can't get your long breakers in there or prybars. If I was using my tools all day, everyday, I would have Snap On Master Series drawers.
However, for home use, light workshop, bike mechanic use, Halfords drawers perform admirably.

Britool is junk now.
Totally agree brad. I got that in 2010 and it is terrible. I’ve put it in the van because I don’t care about it being hit about.
The annoying thing is, is that it wasnt cheap.

The black industrial series are good. I have the roller cab with my Teng stuff on top.
As said, the Halfords locking system isn't all that great but how many tool chest are there that can't be opened with a screwdriver/hammer combo?
It's good and sturdy and the drawers take a good bit of weight without flexing and are smooth running.
I used to manage Halfords stores in Kent and SE London. Just about every professional tool set/storage is half price 2-3 times over the course of a year. You'll get them a bit cheaper still if you can nab a trade card.

So even though they are halfprice you can still get your trade discount on top of that. Cute.
My mate has the black industrial set, I think it's the same 8 drawer set. It's decent enough he has far too much weight in it and all the drawers still run smooth as silk. Snap On is nice but it's not worth the money IMHO, you can get a fair few tools with the money you save over a Snap On.
As far as security goes, it's just as easy to break into a Snap On as it is a Halfords box. If your worried about stuff going walkabout when you're not there then additional security is needed with any box, but remember it's probably being left in a workshop full of tools ideal to defeat any security if they are determined enough.

i have the halfords black set, have had snap on and i bet the tools cant tell the difference snap on is just overpriced poser gear for most normal people

At work I have an old style halfords Industrial roll cab I bought well used 5 years ago, bar a lick of paint it's as good as the day it was made and I use it every day at work. The same can not be said for the beta top box, wonky drawers and the lock mechanism is pretty ********.
I'd say well over 50%, and there must be about 200 of us, of the people at work have halfords boxes and not just the industrial ones, never hear about one going wrong with normal use. Abuse is a different matter, not that I've seen any of that either.
Have a newer industrial style top and bottom at home which obviously gets less use but they are great, I would like the top drawers to have dividers as sold but that's a minor gripe, they are certainly not too shallow. Pry bars fit fine, if you have some mega long pry bars they wouldn't fit in a normal width snap on box either.
I just keep my giant pinch bar over by the door.

they've got huge tool boxes for about £400 (£450 ish?)
and they're bloody fantastic for the price
I'd happily compare mine to the snap on etc. tool boxes I've seen/used
there's probably small details where they're not quite as good, but you'd have to look to find them... and remember they're a tenth of the price of snap on etc. ones
EDIT: £600 with the vat, I got the vat back on mine so that threw me off on the price
