Hi Guys
found a link to The Hammerite Tech sheet for metal paints

The section on Maximum performance when spray Finishing is really useful Noticed quite a few post on hammerite questions hope this answers a few
Acetone I agree seems a good alt to their thinners
Suprised its quite hard to find

i hate hamerite with a passion brushed sprayed its a waste of time in my opinion. id be a fan if fabricating a good coat of davids zinc 182 then green agrox or one of the tractol paints brushed on well. i dunno wat it is about hammerite, but i find it sticky useless junk

I'd have to agree with oilcooled. We were once involved with a sheet pile wall in a 2 storey basement. The specification was shotblast to SA2.5 then one coat of Hammerite!
We ended up powerwire brushing then a three coat Leighs Paints spec - probably Epigrip or something similar.

If an Aldi near you has any of their metal paint on offer grab a couple of tins as it is absolutely brilliant stuff. It goes on easier than Hammerite, doesn't need primer and dries quick as well. I buy some whenever they have it in and my stock of black is getting low so I'm looking for them getting it again.

Don't disagree guys just thought its info for the guys that were asking the questions
also here in spain cant get a good choice of paint its either hammerite or the spanish copy off

hammerite is a good paint,use cheep celly thinners,works fine.
i use it on chassis,engine blocks.
do your prep. and it works fine.
