Hardox

Got a job to repair a crusher for a small 360 and need some small pieces of 400 hardox, at most the largest piece would be 900x600. Anyone know of a supplier for small quantities?

Snowcat is probably the man here for that, he uses the stuff from time to time i believe...i expect he may be along soon.

ITS track, Dave Murray on 07774 990004.... they will cut to any size, mind be prepared its not cheep......

if its not being used for aggregates I tend to just use toes and banana bars then M/S the rest, over wise it becomes uneconomic....

Okay snowcat at the risk of sounding like an idiot (which never stop me before) whats a banana bar I have a mental image which includes large seashells and grass skirts am i even close

Sadly they want all the material to be replaced with hardox, its a IFP 400 pulverizer. From what I've been told its not 12 months old yet, i had a look at it today and its knacked. They've carried on using it after it was worn out (animals). Thanks for the replies, Ill do some phoning tomorrow and let you know.

If you put in "Hardox wear parts" into Google. You get to a website which lists some companies who sell Hardox in profile form. MTL (sheffield), Doug Edwards (South Wales) and JL Steels (Scotland). Just pick the nearest one and gove them a shout. They sell garanteed Hardox plate.

We use Doug Edwards in work. Very helpfull, but a bit far from Bucks.

Spoken to the English side of the manufactures to find out what the crusher is made of but they didn't know and in turn they have spoken the the Italian HQ but they didn't want to tell. I was told of a firm that repaired another one thought it was a combination of 400, 500 and 700 Hardox. So is there a workshop test to differentiate between the grades or recommendations of what grade to use for the toe/tip of the crusher

I have used a bit of 600......it seems a bit brittle and tends to crack a bit... weld with stainless rods.

haven't heard of 700

I thought buckets were all 400 and 500

Snowcat and Tino are the men for bucket info.

Thanks for the reply Wyn Ive got a lot of info from the Oxelosund site but I don't know what this crusher { its like a pair of pliers on a 360 } is made of and so don't know what to replace it with ?
