Used the forum years ago but not been back for a while! At that point I was thinking about plasma cutters but have stuck with working in copper for my art since! BUT I'm all enthused again about working in steel and have decided to start slow using steel rod and learning to braze it to make shapes and letters initially. My question is whether you can braze Bright mild steel together relatively easily as I prefer the finish to black steel. I have ordered the right brazing rods and flux (I hope!)...........

Hi Angie,
I would think it would braze fine,I haven't brazed for many years but if your rods and flux are correct I'm sure it should work fine and dandy.

Bright steel will be ideal for brazing, As usual practice on some scrap rod first.

it will be easier and quicker to tack up with mig. even TIG depending
