Thought I'd best introduce myself as I've been lurking in the background on this wonderful site for a while now looking into Tig welders and Plasma cutters, if all goes well I should have both this week.
I'm not new to welding as I bought my first Mig in 1986 (Cebora 120?) which earnt it's keep fixing my first car and most of my friends vehices up until it proved too small in 1989. A long story but I ended up with an Einhell SGA175 "Turbo!" and I still have it today with my Fathers old Oxford arc set. I have worked in Maintenace most of my working life so welding has been part and parcel of daily life using Arc, Mig & Gas and a play with a Tig in my last fulltime job as a Development Engineer but as I had an experienced Tig welder working for me I had no need to learn other than wanting to.
My project work at home has always been restricted by the inability to weld aluminium and I'm fed up with seeing these custom bike & car shows where they have Tig welding and Plasma sets so now is the time to move into a new era!
Expect questions.......
Regards, Mike
