Hello from South Staffs. What a great forum, can't believe I've only just found it.
Attempting to learn to tig weld this year hopefully with the help of fellow forum members. Bought a small Miller AC/DC tig with foot pedal and initial few attempts are encouraging. Build my own hill climb cars and have a fairly decent workshop setup, but always get the tig welding done by a mate, but as I take early retirement this spring I thought it time I learnt for myself.
Splashed out on a decent Miller big window auto darkening helmet and the improvement over the generic Ebay helmets is really noticeable. Always had a vision problem when electric welding, I see the arc but surroundings are just black and I wander off line, but with the Miller helmet this seems a lot better.
'See' you all soon.
Phil
