Started restoring my land rover a year ago and so have been introduced to mig welding and now I am the owner of one of "China's finest" ebay blast pots
I have read that the ceramic nozzles last for about an hour but have also heard that you can make nozzles from spark plugs is this urban myth or true?

I've heard about using old sparkplugs but never tried it.

I use tundsten carbide ones:

Yes, it can be done. Angle-grind or hacksaw the threaded metal body off the spark plug, then carefully drill the electrode out, from top to bottom. Push the ribbed insulator end into the blaster hose, fix with a jubilee clip.

if the ceramics only last an hour the sparkplug will only last the same. and whats the bore of the sparkplug?? just shell out and buy the carbide one and last forever virtualy
