I be looking around the site for a few weeks now and finally registered last week. It's a fantastic site and everybody so helpful.
I have never done any mig welding but I have done quite a lot of stick welding. I been welding for 20 years around the farm so I've welded almost everything in all sorts of places and I'm starting to get the hang of it

Hi yer scarecrow, If you can use a stick your have no probs with a mig, had the farm upbringing but got into welding as there isnt the money in the family farm to suport me as well, Handy though as its given me a fair few work contacts over the years . I still get to jump on a machine from time to time in the summer nice to get in the A/C cab on a hot day.

Hi snowcat asset rich and cash poor I think is the phrase the describes
firming the best. I'm also has sheep shearing contractor. At 38 I'm starting to get a little too old for that job. I been thinking of doing some welding for folk in my spare time the extra cash always comes in handy when I bought the old John deer the budget didn't stretch to A/C so in this weather it's cooking time
