Just saying hello!

I have obtained a mig welder today for peanuts I have no idea what make it is? It says on the side MIG2000 it is old but working

20 - 120amp & it is usable at 120 amps the duty cycle is 120amp @35%!

It has a euro torch connection and spot weld function,

If any one knows what I have obtained? Then please let me know!

I will probably be a royal pain in the backside with questions but I intend to learn how to weld with a mig!

Welcome to the forum, Jon.

Sounds like you've picked up an interesting little welder; should be very useful on car bodywork if it really goes down to 20 amps. Try and post a picture or two of it on here, probably in the Welding Machines section, asking if anyone recognises it. Do you know what make? Any spec. plate on it, or maker's brand name?

Have a read around the tutorials, and swallow a chunk of theory before actually starting; that way things you've seen/read come back to you when you're actually starting to weld. Makes it a bit easier.

I too haven't been mig-ing that long either, but the tutorial vids really helped me, and when you do your 1st neat looking weld I felt quite good wi'me-sen (then you do some really krappy ones, oh humm) patience and practice is the key.
