Hi there,
I found this site while reseaching the purchase of a mig welder, I'm a forklift mechanic, I served my time as a motor mechanic where I first got the welding bug from our resident panel beater. I've always fancied my own mig but have been put off till I could afford something that will last. I'm still looking and im sure you will see me asking a few questions before I make up my mind.

Just wanted to say this seems a fantastic site and I have been impressed with the friendliness of all the people who post here.Malcolm seems like a top bloke who is really willing to help.

We'll help as much as we can with your welder selection. Although if you've been saving up it sounds like you'll be after a nice one that will do pretty much everything anyway.

Thanks Malcolm, I've had a few beers tonight and while surfing through e-bay forund a "SNAP ON 160 PRO MIG WELDER" for £150 so I've just bought it. Hope I dont regret it tomorrow

Was going to be spending quite a bit more so I'll take a chance.

That sounds ideal. Not sure if Snap-on are better than other welders, but the new prices are really high. Looks like you have a bargain there.
