hi to you all
im 55 from dublin living in harrow,
of course i am new to welding only ever tried it once before when i was making a frame for a compressor i was making about 20 years ago using an arc machine , anyway now iv got an older car, a primera p10 that needs some welding so i think i will weld it myself today i picked up a kamanchi 185 made in italy i think, anyway im in no rush and have read the tutorial on mig welding

Welcome to the madhouse Paul
The best piece of advice i can give you is to practice, practice, practice. Start on thicker materials as they are much less forgiving to variations in your settings. once you get the hang of it you can migrate to thinner steel, dont get all gung ho and learn on the car, you`ll be sorry in the end. Read all the tutes here and show us pictures of your welding because pictures can be the best diagnostic tools with your welding. While your practicing your welding you can practice your metal shaping for making up your patch panels. OK lessons over lol, what car are you going to be re-building? and how bad is it?
