Hello from a new member

Hello All,
I've posted some photos showing the metal models I've made for fun since starting to play with MIG last autumn -

I'm currently working on model #4, based on the "Charr" warrior from my son's "Guild Wars" game; lookout for an album on that too, soon.

Belatedly I'm thinking MIG might actually be a bit brutal for what I'm currently doing but am struggling to justify outlay on a TIG setup (just yet anyway).

Oh, and thanks for all the tutorials, I've been an avid reader for the last year!

Thanks, I wanted something to practice with before trying sill and wheel-arch repairs and just got stuck on these really. Still a bit too scared to try panelwork...

Brilliant work, put some pictures up in the sculpture section of projects, album stuff often gets missed.
the head on the dinowotsit is brilliant use of flat sheet to make a 3D shape. Very clever.

regards Mig being too brutal, it is amazing what fine work can be done with a mig welder, for this kin of work it is often better to turn the power up rather than down, allowing more penetration in less time. Also more time to balls it up completely.

Hi Ron, excellent work, very clever and inspirational I have been toying with embarrassing myself by trying something sculptural and I may well be copying some of your methods.
