Hello from a newbie

Hello one and all,just found this forum site whilst trying to find some 23 gauge sheet on the electro net thingy.
I;m Andy and have been welding badly with my nearly 20yer old sip mig mate 130 which has glued most of my cars together and various other bits of steel to make fish tank stands and gates etc All ugly welded but never fallen apart.
I shall be reading through the forums now to see where I've been going wrong and probably asking lots of silly questions,you have been warned.
I've taught myself everything I don't know about "miging" so hopefully I can learn a lot from this site.
Currently rebuilding my old mazda coupe and today I've just cut out a small panel in the back so I shall be refabricating this in 2 or 3 pieces and playing with my new shrinker/steacher.See what I can ruin with that should me fun So thats me now time to read this forum

Welcome - ask away with questions, and post pictures of the repair - difficult to say how to do it otherwise.

For the SIP, well done. We've got a pimp your SIP page on here to get that running as well as it can, while the early ones were a lot better they'll still need the liner service.

Also barjaws he was right I'VE BEEN WELDING BADLY FOR 20 YEARS Honest.
Like I say It wont break but alot of grinding is needed not pretty but strong even on cars rusty ones which is what i weld mostly.Once I've had a good weekend on the mig it dose get better.I've got a new liner hanging up in the garage been there for 5 years might fit it tomorrow see if it helps thanks for the tip,never changed it yet and probably put about 150 Kgs of wire(steel) and 50Kgs of ali in the years I've had it so I think it might be time!!!!!

Well no BUT as about to start welding again in the next few days I'll see what I can do.I do enjoy welding but just don't get to do it enought so always seams to be starting all over each time but like I say after a good weekend It goes much better.If I can work out how to post pics I will do so but me and computers are newIsh bed fellows and they do not speak the same language as me but if I do manage to get pics up it will be a first and I like a challengeJust had a look at the attach files bit and I think I can so charging up camera for tomorrow when I start fabing up
